Celebrator Party and the Scotch Ale Cheese
By admin on Feb 18, 2008 in Uncategorized
The Celebrator Beer News celebrated its 20th anniversary on February 17, 2008, with a Mardi Gras themed party from 4 to 8 pm at the Oakland Convention Center / Marriot Hotel, in Oakland, California.
More than 35 breweries poured and Celebrator founders Bret and Julie Nickels along with Celebrator staff, writers and beer industry luminaries including pioneer figures in the craft beer movement were present. Cajun/Creole food catered by the Marriott Hotel, music from Dixieland Jazz and Zydeco bands and beer were all included along with a souvenir Belgian-style glass!
It was a FANTASTIC party. The interaction
between brewers and patrons was phenomenal. People asked questions, took notes, swapped hints - what a super event!
The crew from Devil's Canyon poured 8 beers which were warmly received. The Hades Habanero and the Scotch Ale seemed to be the crowd favorites. We also served our Fiscalini Hopscotch Cheese - a cheddar cheese made with Full Boar Scotch Ale. We couldn't slice it fast enough!
Thanks to everyone that made this event possible, thank you to the fans of craft beer, and thank you to Celebrator for the invitation. The Photo Gallery is located here .
