2006 December Beer Friday and Brewery News

So . . . How's the family? Any interesting stories? Whatcha' get for Christmas? That's nice.

Ok, Here we go!!! Put down the turkey left-overs and listen up !It's almost 2007 and that means it's the last Beer Friday of the year. But weep not oh connoisseur of tasty malted beverages, the upcoming Beer Friday is going to be a fantastic one and we have a lot of great things planned for the upcoming year. So leave New Years Eve to the kooks and amateurs, come down to Devil's Canyon and party like its 1999 plus 8. Here's what's going on:

We are always Interested in Your Ideas and Photos from Past Events.

When you register at the website you have the ability to post in the forums and to upload photos. Many thanks to those who have. To those who haven't - get 'er done! We actually do respond to all emails (even though it may take a while sometimes) and we do read the forum postings and comments.

Exhibit #1: Good Idea, Elisabeth, Yes we can trade Matt, No Nancy, you're not stupid and we have your stand up and boom mikes Karl. (Expect more personal emails to follow)

Exhibit #2. Rogue-Non-Kilt-Wearing-Highwayman guy and Lovely-But-Unfortunate Knife-Throwers assistant uploaded some great photos from Halloween. You can check them out in the photo gallery.

Exhibit #3: I am writing and posting this on Christmas Eve. (Actually, I'm killing time 'cause we open presents after midnight tonight. 5 more hours . . . )

If you ever have problems uploading stuff just shoot Dan an email.

Upcoming Caprino's Beer Pairing Event

With a theme rooted in Italian concepts, Caprino's has added an International, American twist. Since the grand opening on August 31, 1998, an increasing number of people have already discovered the unique flavor and ambiance of Caprino's.

Keep your eye's out for an VERY LIMITED engagement we will be having at the brewery. Those of you who attended past Brewer's Dinners will remember the absolutely fantastic food-beer pairings we did. Well we are going to do it again but this time we'll be pairing with some of Caprino's finest fares. Stay tuned, and when we do make the announcement you'll want to reserve a spot right away.

Hootenanny Aftermath.

Oh, did we have fun! Photo's are on the website.

The Stoney Mountain Ramblers played energetic traditional and  NON-traditional bluegrass, newgrass, JerryGrass, etc.

Wires-n-Wood is an acoustic quartet, that played a wide range of dawggy, swingy, jazzy grassy jazzgrass stuff.

Pathetic Honey is a grassy, greasy, gooey rockin jam-band  that featured hot picking, singing, and  great original material.

A Big thanks to everyone who came out for the event. We look forward to doing it again next year!

The New Tanks Are Online!

We are conditioning the Amber in the new tanks and it is, shall we say - yummmmmmy! The batches are being distributed to our customers as you are reading this! So stop by your favorite Devil's Canyon purveyor and give it a try then tell us what you think!

Brew On Premise Slots Available!

We have a few spaces available for the Brew On Premise sessions in January and February. Details here. As you may know, available slots are becoming rarer and rarer as the popularity of the BOP grows so if you are at all interested, jump on it!

Now Pouring at the Carlos Club and Mountain Mikes!

Now pouring at the Carlos Club in San Carlos: Full Boar Scotch Ale! Now pouring at Mountain Mike's Pizza in Redwood City: Hellraiser Hefeweizen!

The Carlos Club has been a San Carlos local's favorite for years. Conveniently located at the intersection of El Camino and San Carlos Avenue in San Carlos. The art-deco exterior is a fine example of the genre, and the neon lights are pretty nifty, also. A friendly place, with as nice a regular crowd as you could want! Maybe the baby grand piano doesn't get as much use as it could, but occasionally, you'll find a regular pro at the keys. If you’re into karaoke on the Peninsula – the Carlos Club in San Carlos is tough to beat.

The first Mountain Mike's Pizza Restaurant was founded in 1978 in Palo Alto, California. Its premise was simple - provide high quality, custom-made pizza using only the freshest and finest ingredients available. Today, with more than one million pizzas in annual sales, Mountain Mike's is quickly becoming the pizza restaurant of choice among families throughout California.

Join us in thanking these two fine establishments for making the decision to serve locally made, award-winning, hand crafted ales! To see a list of all the places you can enjoy Devil's Canyon Brewery's beers see this chart or this map . Stop by, have a pint and tell 'em - CHEERS!
