Time For A Hop Harvest Brew

If you are at the brewery for Beer Friday take a look on the back fence.

Our hops (Humulus lupulus) are ready for harvesting! We planted these about 3 years ago and used them to brew a special Hop Harvest ale last year.

Did you know: Hop shoots grow very rapidly and at the peak of growth can grow 1 to 3 inches per day. Hop bines climb by wrapping clockwise around anything within reach, and individual bines typically grow between 6 to 50 feet depending on what is available to grow on. (Wikipedia)

When you are here, see if you can trace the growth path of our hops.

The current plan is to harvest all of the hops and have a seasonal brew ready for the next Beer Friday.
