Beer Friday is Upon Us!
As always, if you are not on the mailing list, we highly recommend it. Add yourself here. New to Beer Friday? Check the FAQ’s and the new Maps and Directions page!
Here are the highlights of what’s going on at Devil’s Canyon:
Glassware
We will have editors cut, previously unreleased and never before seen, special collector’s edition, GOLD LABEL Devil’s Canyon Glassware - in 3D. As if we could make this up, the printer that makes our glassware ran out of black ink. Yup, Black ink. No, really. Black.
So . . . . we had a special run of Gold logo glasses made instead. While we highly recommend you reuse the glass you got from last Beer Friday, we are letting you know the new design will be available so if you want one you can leave your regular glass at home.
Food
Will be catered by Emergency BBQ. In addition to salad and rolls they will be serving up chicken, tri-tip, pork tenderloin and hot-links. Check out their website here.
The BIG SURPRISE . . is that we will be roasting a pig. Not just any old pig, but one that we bought at the County Fair from the San Carlos-Eaton Hills 4-H Club. And not just any old pig that we bought at the county fair, this one was raised being fed on the spent grains from our Full Boar Scotch Ale!
We will post pre-roasting, fair photos later this month. (Is that just a little macabre?)
Cheese
The Full Boar Scotch Ale Cheese is now available at Woodside Deli. More Details in this post.
Bluegrass Night - October 3rd
Get into the swing for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass by joining the unofficial opening event of the weekend! Multiple bluegrass, jazz-grass, and jam-grass bands will get your toes tappin’ and your booty shakin’.
Bands will include the Stoney Mountain Ramblers, the Four Finger String Band, and several more to be confirmed and announced soon!

Special Harvest Brew
If you are at the brewery for Beer Friday take a look on the back fence.
Our hops (Humulus lupulus) are ready for harvesting! We planted these about 3 years ago and used them to brew a special Hop Harvest ale last year. Details in this posting

Debate on Lowering the Drinking Age to 18
So what do you think? Check out this posting for the pro’s and cons.
If a U.S. citizen can vote, marry, go to war, be criminally charged as an adult, be an air traffic controller, etc at age 18 . . . should they be able to have a beer? Personally we are torn. We see both a dogmatic and a pragmatic logic to the debate.
Please leave a comment, we’d love to hear your perspective!

Budweiser? No longer American. Pabst and subsidiaries? Not American. Coors? Nope. Miller? Nyet.
