The Beer Friday Bands This Month Are:

The Tribal Blues Band
The Tribal Blues Band is a seven piece power blues, jazz, and funk machine; their live performance exudes excitement and energy and is a must see experience. The sizzling guitar work, solid bottom end, grooving rhythms, fat horn riffs and cutting edge vocals blend to form a cohesive unit.  The Tribal Blues Band’s repertoire runs the gamut ranging from exciting and driving to searing and sublime, and is often ethereal and sweet. There is something here to satisfy every music and partying aficionado.

Father Festus
We started as a mediocre-at-best cover band called “Grape Jelly”. (Their words not ours.) Frustrated with rehashing tired classic rock like “Hotel California”, we began to write our own stuff and before long Grape Jelly was toast and Father Festus was born, the name taken from an actual catholic priest the lead singer’s wife knew.

Fueled by enthusiastic crowds and tequila “The Festus” as we are known to our fans, made it all the way to the west coast finals at Great American Music Hall where we rocked it in serious fashion. Summer of ‘07 was highlighted by the new acoustic Festus debuted on Haight St. in SF and then taken to even greater heights at Devil’s Canyon Brewery in Belmont. Father Festus is heading back to the studio in late February to record at the Annex in Menlo Park.
